'Jujutsu Kaisen' Tops Charts for the Second Time in Two Years with Two Titles in the Top 10 [Oricon Mid-Year Ranking]

The 25th volume of the popular manga 'Jujutsu Kaisen' (created by Gege Akutami), released on January 4th, sold 1.455 million copies during the period, securing the top spot in the 'Oricon Mid-Year "Book" Ranking' comic category announced today, the 30th. This marks the series' second time at number one in two years, since 2022.

Additionally, the latest 26th volume of the series, released on April 4th, sold 1.196 million copies during the period, ranking third. Two titles from the series made it into the Top 10.

Notably, the 25th volume also ranked first in the 'Oricon Weekly Comic Ranking' (dated 2024/1/15) and continued to hold the number one spot for three consecutive weeks through 1/29 and 2/5.

The 'Jujutsu Kaisen' series has been airing its second season on TV (MBS/TBS) since last July. The related songs, such as Tatsuya Kitani's "Ao no Sumika," the opening theme for the "Hidden Inventory/Premature Death" arc, and King Gnu's "SPECIALZ," the opening theme for the "Shibuya Incident" arc, also performed well in music rankings. Both songs have surpassed 200 million cumulative streams on the 'Oricon Streaming Ranking' (*).

In other rankings, the 12th volume of the manga 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End' (written by Kanehito Yamada, illustrated by Tsukasa Abe) sold 637,000 copies during the period, ranking fifth, while the latest 13th volume sold 510,000 copies, ranking eighth. This is the series' first time entering the Top 10 in the mid-year ranking.

(*) Tatsuya Kitani's "Ao no Sumika" (released on July 7, 2023) achieved 200 million cumulative streams on the Oricon Weekly Streaming Ranking dated 2024/2/12, and King Gnu's "SPECIALZ" (released on September 1, 2023) achieved the same milestone on the ranking dated 2024/2/19.

The 'Oricon "Book" Ranking' started on the chart dated 2008/4/7.
