Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Launches First Post Finale Short Series ‘≡-Modulo-’ with Yuji Iwasaki as Illustrator

Gege Akutami, creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, will launch his first short-run series after the manga’s conclusion, taking on the role of original story writer for the first time. The new project, titled ≡-Modulo- (JP: ≡-モジュロ-), is illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, known for drawing Cipher Academy (暗号学園のいろは). The series begins in issue 41 of Weekly Shonen Jump, released on September 8.

Akutami concluded Jujutsu Kaisen in issue 44 of Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2024, wrapping up a six-and-a-half-year serialization that began in issue 14 of 2018. This marks his first time creating a manga solely as the original author rather than both writer and illustrator.

Iwasaki previously illustrated Cipher Academy (written by Nisio Isin, spanning seven volumes) from issue 51 of 2022 until issue 10 of 2024 in Weekly Shonen Jump.
A preview cut has been released, with the debut chapter featured as the cover story and a 54-page opening color spread.
