The TV anime A Star Brighter Than the Sun will premiere nationwide across 28 TBS-affiliated stations on October 2 at 11:56 PM. Alongside the announcement, the key visual and first promotional video (PV) have been released. The newly announced cast includes Hina Youmiya as Hisui Onodera, Taito Ban as Yota Ayukawa, Mutsumi Tamura as Mio Kagawa, and Ryota Osaka as Yushin Izawa. It was also revealed that the opening theme will be Stellar Days by Motohiro Hata.

Created by Kazune Kawahara, known for works such as My Love Story!! (illustrated by Aruko), High School Debut, and Sensei!, this latest manga is serialized in Bessatsu Margaret (Shueisha) and has surpassed 3 million copies in circulation as of August 2025. The story follows Sae Iwata, a girl slightly sturdier than average, and Koki Kamishiro, a delicate boy. Sae fell in love with Kamishiro’s smile in elementary school, but the slender and small boy transformed into a charming, popular young man by middle school, making him feel distant. During their final junior high sports festival, they find themselves paired together, and Sae’s long-suppressed first love begins to stir. No matter how far apart they may seem, her dazzling star will always be him—a sparkling tale of first love.

The first PV vividly depicts the high school life of Sae, Kamishiro, and their friends, while also offering a first listen to the voices of the newly introduced characters. In the latter half of the video, Stellar Days by Motohiro Hata plays, allowing viewers to preview part of the new song.
