New “Hyrule Warriors” Title Set for Winter Release on Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo announced on July 31 through its “Nintendo Direct: Third-Party Lineup” program, streamed on YouTube and other platforms, that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will be released this winter for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Set in the universe of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the game explores untold stories of Princess Zelda and Rauru, expanding on events not depicted in the original game.

Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to the original Switch, features a larger, smoother display and introduces magnetic new controllers called Joy-Con 2. Enhanced processing and graphical performance offer new ways to play and express in-game experiences.

One of its standout features is the new “Game Chat” function, which allows players to start voice or video chats with friends from afar at any time during gameplay by pressing the C button on the Joy-Con 2.
