Live-Action “The Legend of Zelda” Film Cast Revealed, Set for Release on May 7, 2027
Nintendo updated its official X (formerly Twitter) account on the 16th, announcing the cast for the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of its blockbuster game series, The Legend of Zelda, which is set to hit theaters on May 7, 2027.

The post reads: “This is Miyamoto. In the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda, Bo Bragason will play Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will portray Link. We’re looking forward to seeing them bring these beloved characters to life. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on May 7, 2027. Please stay tuned.”

The film is being co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, Representative Director and Fellow at Nintendo, and Avi Arad, head of Arad Productions Inc., who has produced numerous blockbuster films.
Production is a collaboration between Nintendo and Arad Productions Inc., with direction by Wes Ball. Nintendo is investing more than 50% of the film’s production budget, while Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. will handle worldwide distribution and co-financing.

Nintendo stated, “By taking the initiative to produce visual content based on Nintendo IP, we aim to provide audiences around the globe with opportunities to experience the world of entertainment that Nintendo has cultivated, through channels different from our dedicated game consoles.”
