AlphaPolis Co., Ltd. announced the full acquisition of WHITE FOX Co., Ltd., an anime production studio known for works such as Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-. The move makes WHITE FOX a wholly owned subsidiary, strengthening AlphaPolis’s structure for in-house animation production and expanding its ability to adapt in-house IPs into animated works.
Why Did AlphaPolis Acquire WHITE FOX?
AlphaPolis, a publishing company that began as an internet-based content platform, has announced the acquisition of all shares in WHITE FOX, turning it into a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term mission to pursue entertainment unconstrained by conventional norms. AlphaPolis has been actively publishing novels and manga originating online and converting them into books.
The company has also been focusing on multi-media expansion of its intellectual properties (IPs), including animation adaptations, merchandise sales, and game development. Among these, the anime business has been positioned as a key medium-term strategic initiative. By acquiring WHITE FOX, AlphaPolis seeks to enhance its ability to animate its IPs internally and strengthen its media deployment capacity.

WHITE FOX’s Track Record and Industry Position
Founded on April 25, 2007, WHITE FOX Co., Ltd. is an anime studio located in Suginami-ku, Tokyo. The company has earned recognition within the anime industry for its consistent production quality and technical capabilities. WHITE FOX is known for a number of high-profile titles, including Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, STEINS;GATE, Goblin Slayer, Is the Order a Rabbit?, and The Devil is a Part-Timer!.
The studio’s ability to handle animation production comprehensively makes it a valuable asset in an industry where high-quality animation is increasingly in demand, while skilled animators and production expertise remain limited. Its integration into the AlphaPolis group is expected to streamline content creation by leveraging existing IPs with WHITE FOX’s production resources.
AlphaPolis's IP Strategy and Future Outlook
AlphaPolis has developed numerous original works into anime adaptations, such as GATE, Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy, and Re:Monster. With WHITE FOX now part of the group, AlphaPolis plans to accelerate the pace of its IP adaptations, using WHITE FOX’s production strengths to enhance animation quality and potentially reach wider audiences, including international markets.
The acquisition also aims to improve the visibility and brand power of AlphaPolis’s works. By controlling both content and production, the company expects to gain more flexibility and consistency in delivering high-quality animated projects. The move supports AlphaPolis’s declared strategy to expand its presence in the anime business as a core growth area in the coming years.
