Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon Manga Concludes After 4-Year Run—A New Tale of Inuyasha Comes to an End
The manga Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, based on the world of Inuyasha, concluded today in the latest issue of Shonen Sunday S (released on the 25th), marking the end of a four-year serialization that began in September 2021.
Yashahime
This popular spinoff, with original character designs by Rumiko Takahashi and manga adaptation by Takashi Shiina, follows the daughters of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru—beloved characters from the original Inuyasha series.
The story centers on Towa, a 14-year-old girl living in the Reiwa era and daughter of Sesshomaru, her twin sister Setsuna, a demon slayer, and Moroha, a bounty hunter and daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome. These three half-demon girls, born of both human and yokai blood, navigate their unique destinies across time.
The anime adaptation of Yashahime premiered in 2020 as a new chapter in the Inuyasha universe. Shiina, known for works like Zettai Karen Children, brought the story to manga form starting in September 2021.
The final chapter features the three Yashahime heroines returning from the modern era to the Sengoku period. Their respective conclusions unfold amid a center-colored spread that commemorates the series’ finale.
