YOASOBI’s “Idol” Wins Best Domestic Anime Song at MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2025
On May 21, the inaugural MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2025 (MAJ)—dubbed the "Japanese Grammy Awards"—announced the winners of all 62 categories, including genre-specific and media-related awards. The Best Domestic Anime Song award went to YOASOBI’s “Idol”, which served as the opening theme for the anime Oshi no Ko.

With the concept “Connecting with the world, lighting the future of music,” the ceremony was held for the first time in Kyoto, spanning two days at ROHM Theatre Kyoto. The event gathered more than 5,000 artists and music professionals, who voted to determine the winners.
Each winner received THE RUBY, a vibrant red trophy symbolizing passion and excellence.
On May 21, the “Premiere Ceremony” was held, followed by the “Grand Ceremony” on May 22, featuring a red carpet event and the announcement of top award winners.
