Who—or What—is Shuji?

It is revealed that Shuji is originally from the “other side”—the world where Sharon’s Rose once existed. He has crossed over into the world of GQuuuuuuX, a reality believed to be created by the Rose Maiden, in order to bring it to an end.

Immediately after revealing this to Machu and Char, a new figure emerges from the “other side” of the Zeknova—not the red Gundam, but a white Gundam, identical to the one in the original canon.

It also becomes clear that Shuji had known Char Aznable for some time and was, in effect, entrusted with the red Gundam. On the other hand, Challia Bull was unaware of Shuji’s existence. In Shuji’s flashback, Char appeared in the form of Shirouzu, suggesting they met in the aftermath of a Zeknova-induced dimensional shift.
