A new visual for the anime The Apothecary Diaries—currently airing on Nippon TV's "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT" block—has been revealed. Titled “The Seasons with Maomao and Jinshi,” the April installment of the monthly visual series features the characters enjoying a springtime picnic under cherry blossoms. Wallpapers for PC and smartphones featuring this visual are available for download on the official website.

This is the 10th entry in the special monthly series released on the 22nd of each month, known as "Maomao Day," with each visual themed around a seasonal plant. Naturally, April’s visual is centered on cherry blossoms, the symbol of spring.

The scene captures Maomao pouring her beloved sake while Jinshi, his cheeks slightly flushed, appears tipsy. The two share a relaxed atmosphere under the cherry trees—a rare, candid moment that offers a different look at their usual personas.

About The Apothecary Diaries

Based on the novel by Natsu Hyuga with illustrations by Touko Shino, The Apothecary Diaries is a palace mystery drama that follows Maomao, the curious and sharp-witted daughter of an apothecary, and Jinshi, a beautiful and enigmatic court eunuch. Together, they take on puzzling cases within the imperial court.

In Season 2, Maomao returns to her role as food taster at the Jade Pavilion following the announcement of Lady Gyokuyo's pregnancy. As palace intrigue deepens and new threats emerge, Maomao must stay alert to protect both the consort and her unborn child. The duo soon finds themselves at the center of a major incident that could shake the empire.
