The post comes from frequent Monster Hunter Wilds creator “シュリトスのUKIWA” (@syurinoukiwa), who shared the haunting image along with the caption:

The post includes the hashtag “#ハガレン,” and perceptive fans of Fullmetal Alchemist will likely pick up on the reference.

In the Fullmetal Alchemist series, Shou Tucker—an alchemist known for his experiments—creates a chimera by fusing his daughter Nina with their beloved dog Alexander. The result is a creature with a dog-like body, long human hair, and the ability to speak, a moment that left many fans scarred for life.
The Monster Hunter Wilds version strongly resembles this chimera, complete with round glasses that also hint at Tucker himself being merged into the character’s design.

The community’s reaction was swift and intense, with replies like:
