The upcoming film You and Idol Pretty Cure the Movie, based on the latest installment in the Pretty Cure franchise, is officially set for theatrical release in Japan on September 12. Along with the announcement, a brand-new teaser trailer and an original illustrated teaser visual were unveiled.

Since its debut in February 2004 with Futari wa Pretty Cure, the Pretty Cure series has remained a beloved and aspirational presence for children. In 2023, its 20th anniversary year, the franchise saw major success through events like the All Pretty Cure Exhibition and the record-breaking Pretty Cure All Stars F film. That momentum carried into last year's standalone film Wonderful Precure! The Movie!, which achieved a series-high box office of 1.24 billion yen.

The current series You and Idol Pretty Cure airs every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on ABC TV and TV Asahi. Its central theme is: “Because you're here, I can shine. I can be strong!” The story follows Uta Sakura, a girl who loves to sing, as she encounters the fairy Purirun, who is searching for the legendary saviors known as the Idol Pretty Cures to save the darkened Kirakki Land from the Chokkiri Gang boss, Darkine. Uta transforms into an "Idol Pretty Cure" to sing, dance, cheer for fans, and fight evil.

Following the series' debut, social media lit up with enthusiastic reactions such as “So good, so classic—welcome back, Pretty Cure!” and “Curious to see where it goes with these fairy characters.” Fans also praised the idol-themed 3D live segments and musical performances: “The 3D live scenes really shine,” “Kimipuri’s songs are amazing,” and “The ending theme would be so fun to chant along with at a concert!”

The original teaser visual features Cure Idol, Cure Wink, and Cure Kyun-Kyun flashing bright smiles and dynamic poses as if performing on a massive concert screen. Just in front of the screen, the fairies Purirun and Meroron can be seen cheering with glowsticks. The poster's tagline reads, “A sparkling live show begins in theaters across Japan!” A special edition of this teaser flyer—complete with a kids' coloring section on the back—will be distributed at participating theaters in Japan starting May 1.

The teaser trailer also builds excitement for the movie’s exclusive concert scenes, promising a "sparkling stage you can only see in theaters," as teased by Cure Idol herself.
