Episode 8 of You and Idol Pretty Cure (キミとアイドルプリキュア♪), the 22nd installment in the Pretty Cure anime series, has released its story preview and early scene stills. Episode 8 will air on Sunday, March 30, at 8:30 AM on Japanese TV, followed by international streaming on various platforms.

Episode 8 Story

During lunch break one day, Kokoro (voiced by Natsumi Takamori) approaches Uta (voiced by Misato Matsuoka) and Nana (voiced by Minami Takahashi).

She asks, “Can I study you two more closely to better understand Idol Pretty Cure?” This leads to the three of them having a sleepover at Uta’s house.

They gather at Café Glitter, and when night falls, Uta and Nana transform into Pretty Cures in Uta’s room. Kokoro, together with Prirun, takes tons of photos of Cure Idol and Cure Wink — but her true goal is to use the images as references for costumes for handmade mascots.

When Cure Idol learns that the mascot for Cure Kyunkyung hasn’t been made yet, she suggests, “Let’s make it together!” Kokoro then transforms into Cure Kyunkyung, and the three start taking photos together. After enjoying their time, they get ready for bed, but Prirun feels a bit lonely being the only one without a matching outfit. Once Prirun falls asleep, Kokoro proposes an idea to Uta and Nana.

About You and Idol Pretty Cure

The theme of You and Idol Pretty Cure revolves around idols. With the belief that "Because you're here, I can shine and become stronger!", the Pretty Cure idols sing, dance, and engage with fans, using their performances to restore Kirakira to those who have lost it.

The story follows Uta Sakura, a second-year middle school student who loves to sing. One day, she meets Purirun, a fairy searching for the Idol Pretty Cure, the legendary savior of Kirakiland. Kirakiland has been plunged into darkness by Darkine, the leader of the Chokkiri Gang.

As the Chokkiri Gang begins stealing the Kirakira from townspeople, a desperate Uta declares, "I want to bring back the Kirakkiranran feeling! With my song!" Her determination resonates, and she transforms into the legendary Cure Idol.
