Episode 5 of You and Idol Pretty Cure (キミとアイドルプリキュア♪), the 22nd installment in the Pretty Cure anime series, has released its story preview and early scene stills. Episode 5 will air on Sunday, March 2, at 8:30 AM on Japanese TV, followed by international streaming on various platforms. The mysterious figure introduced at the end of Episode 4 is revealed to be a character named Tanaka, voiced by Junichi Suwabe, who has also shared a comment on his role.

Episode5 Story

Episode 5: "We’ve Got a Manager!" (Airing on June 2nd)
Uta Sakura (voiced by Misato Matsuoka) and Nana Aokaze (voiced by Minami Takahashi) are visited by a man who introduces himself as "Tanaka"—someone who knows their true identities as Idol Pretty Cures.

When they ask Queen Pikariine about him, she explains that Tanaka has come to support their mission as Idol Pretty Cures.

While they are discussing this, Uta and Nana notice a message requesting their help. They eagerly ask Tanaka if they can take on the job. Though initially hesitant, saying, "You should avoid public appearances," Tanaka ultimately agrees after being persuaded by Purirun.

The job turns out to be starring in a commercial for Pretty Holic's new cosmetics line. The shoot will take place at a newly opened store in Hanamichi Town, but there's a catch—the filming is scheduled for the very next day!

Junichi Suwabe's Comment on His Role as Tanaka

"I’ve finally become a Pretty Cure! Even in my 50s, dreams can still come true... Wait, that’s not it?! I was all set to play Cure Gentle or Cure Dandy!

Jokes aside, while I did appear in a past Pretty Cure movie, this is my first time in a TV series.

Tanaka (or Tanakarn, as some may call him) is the closest adult figure who knows the Idol Pretty Cures’ true identities. That means he might be the character adult viewers relate to the most!

I don’t know how my role will evolve, but I really hope Tanaka stays until the very end. Please support me! And if I get the chance to become a Cure… well, I won’t say any more (laughs).”

About You and Idol Pretty Cure

The theme of You and Idol Pretty Cure revolves around idols. With the belief that "Because you're here, I can shine and become stronger!", the Pretty Cure idols sing, dance, and engage with fans, using their performances to restore Kirakira to those who have lost it.

The story follows Uta Sakura, a second-year middle school student who loves to sing. One day, she meets Purirun, a fairy searching for the Idol Pretty Cure, the legendary savior of Kirakiland. Kirakiland has been plunged into darkness by Darkine, the leader of the Chokkiri Gang.

As the Chokkiri Gang begins stealing the Kirakira from townspeople, a desperate Uta declares, "I want to bring back the Kirakkiranran feeling! With my song!" Her determination resonates, and she transforms into the legendary Cure Idol.
