The popular multimedia franchise Uma Musume Pretty Derby will premiere its new TV anime series Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray on Sunday, April 20, at 4:30 PM (JST) on the TBS network. The show will air in two split cours. Ahead of its debut, a synopsis and preview images from Episode 3 have been released.

After a fierce race with Fujimasa March, Oguri Cap begins to feel something she’s never experienced before—emotions that go beyond her usual focus on simply running. This newfound awareness stirs within her, brought on by the intensity of her first official race.

About Uma Musume
Uma Musume features characters inspired by real-life racehorses such as Special Week, Silence Suzuka, and Tokai Teio, gaining popularity through games, manga, and anime as a cross-media project.
The first season of the anime aired from April to June 2018, followed by the second season from January to March 2021, and the third from October to December 2023.
The mobile game launched in February 2021, and in May 2024, the franchise released its first feature-length film.

Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray is based on the ongoing manga of the same name serialized in Weekly Young Jump. With over 6 million copies in circulation, the manga is a major hit. The story centers on the strongest Uma Musume, Oguri Cap, following her "Cinderella story" as she races from a small-town track to national fame. The series depicts how the gray-haired girl came to be known as a “monster” on the track.
This anime adaptation coincides with the 40th anniversary of the birth of the real-life racehorse Oguri Cap. The anime is directed by Yuki Ito, series composition by Aki Kandaichi, character designs by Takuya Miyahara and Keigo Sasaki, and produced by CygamesPictures.
