A Timeless Classic: GeGeGe no Kitaro
Originally serialized in 1965 in Weekly Shonen Magazine, GeGeGe no Kitaro has remained a beloved classic for over half a century, spanning manga, anime, films, novels, dramas, and video games. The series introduced many traditional Japanese yokai (supernatural beings), with creator Shigeru Mizuki’s unique artistic interpretations bringing these folklore creatures into the public eye.
The story follows Kitaro, the last surviving member of the Ghost Tribe, as he fights alongside his father, Medama Oyaji, and his yokai allies—including Neko Musume—to protect both humans and yokai.
