Toho commented on reaching the 10 billion yen mark: "It truly symbolizes Karasuno High and Nekoma High, connecting and soaring to become a '10 billion yen breakthrough film.' The rapid progress of 'Haikyuu!! The Trash Heap Battle' is not to be missed! The festival is far from over!"

Additionally, starting May 3, the sixth wave of moviegoer bonuses will be distributed, the "Haikyuu!! The Trash Heap Battle Player Encyclopedia-style Bromides," indicating that box office figures are likely to continue to rise. The film, a continuation of the TV anime "Haikyuu!! TO THE TOP" aired in 2020, is a two-part movie adaptation. The first part covers one of the most popular episodes from the original manga, the third-round match of the Spring High Tournament between Karasuno High School and Nekoma High School, known as "The Trash Heap Battle," following the events of the Inarizaki High School match depicted in "Haikyuu!! TO THE TOP." "Haikyuu!!" is based on the manga serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020, featuring a youth story about high school volleyball. It follows Shoyo Hinata, who aims to reach the heights of his school's legendary "Little Giant" and grows through fierce competition and camaraderie with his teammates, including the genius setter known as the "King of the Court," Tobio Kageyama. The series has exceeded 60 million copies in circulation, with the first season of the TV anime broadcast in 2014, followed by the second in 2015, the third in 2016, and the fourth in 2020.
