The latest installment in the Gundam franchise, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, will premiere on April 8 on NTV’s nationwide network of 30 stations. The anime will air every Tuesday at 12:29 AM.

The series is a collaboration between Studio Khara, known for the Evangelion franchise, and Sunrise, the studio behind the Gundam series. Prior to the TV broadcast, a theatrical version, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, was released on January 17, featuring select episodes restructured for cinematic viewing. The film is currently enjoying a successful run.

Kazuya Tsurumaki, director of the Rebuild of Evangelion films, takes the helm for this project. Series composition is handled by Yoji Enokido, while renowned mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita leads the mecha designs.

Main Characters and Cast

The protagonist, Amate Yuzuriha (nickname: MACHU), will be voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa. Other key characters include Nyaan, voiced by Yui Ishikawa, and Shuji Ito, voiced by Shimba Tsuchiya.

Synopsis of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX

Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space.

When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle.

Under the entry name "Machu," she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji.

Now their world is about to enter a new era.
