To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Mobile Fighter G Gundam, the official website has released Episode 5 of G Gundam Gaiden: The East is Burning Red, written by chief director Yasuhiro Imagawa. This marks the final arc, titled The Legend of Three Heroes: The Oriental Pearl (JP: 三侠新傳 東方の珠).

In this episode, an elite force composed of former Gundam Fighters is deployed to reclaim the Guiana Special Zone from the DG Control (Devil Gundam Control) Colony. Leading the charge is Master Junior, the son of Master Asia, who pilots Domon's former mobile suit, the Shining Gundam, for an epic showdown against him. The final episode, Episode 6, will be released on the 28th.

The elite unit of Gundam Fighters featured in this battle is known as the Gundam Union, previously introduced in the original G Gundam anime. The Gundam Union was formed to protect Earth from the Devil Gundam threat, united by Neo Nepal's Gundam Fighter, Kyral Mekirel.
