One of Japan’s largest gaming events, Tokyo Game Show 2025 (TGS 2025), will take place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba from September 25 to 28. The event will be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person exhibitions with official online programming.

September 25-26: Business Days (for industry professionals)
September 27-28: Public Days (open to general attendees)
The general public tickets will go on sale mid-July, while business day tickets will be available mid-August.

Japan Game Awards 2025 – New Venue & Date

The prestigious Japan Game Awards 2025, which honors the top game of the year, will now take place on September 23 (Tuesday, public holiday)—two days before TGS 2025—at Iino Hall in Tokyo, rather than the usual TGS opening day event stage. The Future Division Awards will still be held on the final day of TGS, as in previous years.

Changes to Game Eligibility Period

The eligibility period for voting has also been adjusted:
Previous: April 1 – March 31
New: June 1 – May 31
Transition Year (2024-2025): April 1, 2024 – May 31, 2025
