An Anime Film Based on the Hit Mobile Game "Project SEKAI"

The film is based on Project SEKAI: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku, a hugely popular mobile game with over 39 million downloads worldwide.

In the original game, players explore the vibrant city of Shibuya, a hub for music and subculture, alongside the mysterious world of "Sekai," which reflects people's true emotions. The story revolves around teenagers discovering their "true feelings" and "their own songs." Of course, Hatsune Miku and other Virtual Singers play a significant role in this journey.

A Completely Original Story by P.A.WORKS

Unlike the game, the film features a new version of Hatsune Miku—one that has never appeared in Project SEKAI before.
This original story, fully animated by P.A.WORKS, follows Miku as she encounters the characters from Project SEKAI and embarks on a journey of self-discovery and growth.

📖 Story Summary

"Tell me about yourself… Maybe then, I'll understand what it means to sing."

While browsing a CD shop, Ichika Hoshino hears a song by Miku, but something about it is unfamiliar.
When she looks up at a monitor, she sees a Hatsune Miku she has never seen before.
Without thinking, Ichika calls out, "Miku?"

The startled Miku meets her gaze for a moment—but then vanishes.

A few days later, after finishing a street performance, Ichika notices that the same Miku appears on her smartphone screen.

Looking lonely and downcast, Miku reveals her struggle:

💫 She wants to deliver songs to the "owners of emotions",
💫 But no matter how much she sings, her voice never reaches them.

Seeing Ichika's ability to move people through music, Miku wonders:

💫 "If I understand her, maybe I’ll be able to reach people too."

With a gentle smile, Ichika replies: "If it's me you're asking, I'll do my best to help."

✨ Thus begins a new story between Hatsune Miku and a group of young musicians—a tale of music, emotions, and self-discovery.
