🍫Why Chocolate on Valentine’s Day?
In Japan, it is customary for women to give chocolates to the men they like on February 14, Valentine’s Day.
The tradition is said to have originated in 1936, when a confectionery company in Kobe ran an advertisement promoting the idea of “giving chocolate on Valentine’s Day.”
In recent years, this tradition has expanded beyond romantic gestures—people now also buy chocolates for friends, family, or even as a personal treat with a touch of luxury.
A similar custom exists in South Korea, but traditions vary across different countries.
