Weekly Shonen Magazine Launches ‘Graduation Project Manga Award’ – A Hunt for Unique Artistic Talent

On February 5, Weekly Shonen Magazine announced the launch of a new manga award exclusively for students of art and design universities—the ‘Graduation Project Manga Award!!’ 🎓✨

Unlike traditional manga contests that aim for mass submissions, this competition is strictly limited to graduation projects, allowing students to directly submit their final thesis manga as an entry.

🎯 Why Only Art & Design University Students?

Weekly Shonen Magazine's editorial team explains:
"Most manga awards try to attract as many entries as possible. This time, we deliberately made it ultra-exclusive—risking even zero submissions—because we are seeking truly ‘sharp-edged,’ avant-garde talent."

With digital manga on the rise and more creators emerging than ever, Shonen Magazine is actively looking for bold, unique, and groundbreaking artistic voices that stand out from conventional storytelling.
