A Fresh Adventure with Familiar Themes
The original Zootopia resonated worldwide with its heartfelt story about perseverance and tackling issues like prejudice and bias, centered around the cheerful and determined rabbit police officer Judy and the witty fox con artist Nick.
In Zootopia 2, Nick has graduated from the police academy and officially joined the force. He and Judy reunite as partners to unravel a new mystery in Zootopia. Their mission? To track down Gary, a wanted snake criminal. As they go undercover in unexplored parts of the city, their bond is put to the ultimate test. Together, they uncover a deeper conspiracy tied to Zootopia’s hidden “dark past” involving Gary and his reptilian associates.
A New Character with a Twist
Gary, the wanted snake criminal, is a pivotal character in the sequel. Despite his venomous nature, he’s bright, talkative, and full of surprises. His role is crucial in leading Judy and Nick toward Zootopia’s hidden secrets.
Celebrating 2025: The Year of the Snake
In honor of the Year of the Snake, the Japan-exclusive visual celebrates “Zootopia Year” with a radiant depiction of the vibrant animal metropolis. The visual features Nick in an eye-catching, unconventional detective look and Judy in her signature polished style, with Gary slithering mischievously in the background.
Returning Directors
The sequel is helmed by Jared Bush, who co-directed and co-wrote the first film and now serves as Disney Animation’s Chief Creative Officer, alongside Byron Howard, who returns to the director’s chair. The duo promises to deliver another heartfelt and visually stunning masterpiece.
