Tooru Amuro (Rei Furuya) Returns to 'Detective Conan' TV Anime in January
The latest episode of the TV anime Detective Conan aired on December 28 on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV. A teaser for next year’s episodes revealed that the two-part special Kaito Kid and the Crown Magic, airing on January 18 and 25, will feature the return of Tooru Amuro.
The teaser video features Conan's voice introducing, "January will bring must-see episodes!" followed by Kaito Kid's voice proclaiming, "Kaito Kid and the Crown Magic. Enjoy this magnificent illusion!" The footage then unveils Amuro Tooru, stirring excitement among fans.
On the official X (formerly Twitter) account, it was announced that the anime will kick off 2025 with a special New Year lineup.

Tooru Amuro was previously voiced by veteran voice actor Toru Furuya. However, Furuya stepped down in June 2024 due to a controversy, leaving the role uncast. Fans are eagerly anticipating the announcement of a new voice actor, especially with the character confirmed to appear in the upcoming April 2025 movie, Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback.
