About Takopi's Original Sin

Serialized on Shonen Jump+ from December 2021 to March 2022, the manga tells the poignant story of Shizuka Kuze, a withdrawn girl facing harsh realities, as seen through the eyes of Takopi, an alien from the Happy Planet. Tasked with spreading happiness on Earth, Takopi’s naïve attempts to uplift Shizuka with his “Happy Gadgets” lead to unforeseen consequences, unraveling a powerful and heart-wrenching narrative that tackles issues like bullying, domestic violence, and toxic family dynamics.

Despite its short run, the series gained massive popularity, achieving over 1.4 million copies sold and ranking 3rd in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023 (Men’s Category).
