A new TV anime titled "Gintama: Class 3Z’s Ginpachi-sensei", based on the spin-off novel of the same name, has been announced and will begin airing on TV Tokyo in October 2025. Alongside this announcement, a teaser PV has also been unveiled.

The anime "Class 3Z’s Ginpachi-sensei" transforms the world of Gintama by shifting the setting from Edo to a school, delivering a unique high school comedy that celebrates an unconventional youth. The tagline, “A Gintama-style youth where extroverts and introverts don’t matter!”, sets the tone for this unpredictable school-life anime. The story follows homeroom teacher Ginpachi Sakata, characterized by his sloppy white coat and lifeless fish-like eyes, as he handles a class of unruly students who bring chaos to the school setting.

About Gintama

The Gintama manga series, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) in December 2003, is set in an alternate version of Edo, where the city is under the control of alien beings known as Amanto. The story revolves around Gintoki Sakata, a jack-of-all-trades, and the colorful cast of characters who surround him in this sci-fi historical comedy.

The series concluded in June 2019 and has achieved massive success, with over 73 million copies of the manga in circulation. The anime adaptation premiered in April 2006 on TV Tokyo and ran for four seasons, alongside multiple theatrical films.
