A Story of Unexpected Connections
The series follows Wakana Gojo, a high school boy striving to become a traditional Kashirashi—an artisan specializing in crafting doll heads for Hina dolls. Despite his dedication, Wakana struggles to fit in with his peers and remains disconnected from trends of his generation. Marin Kitagawa, a lively and popular classmate at the center of their social circle, seems worlds apart from him. However, an unexpected turn of events leads the two to share a secret about Marin’s passion for cosplay, sparking a unique bond between them.
Originally serialized in Young Gangan by Square Enix, the manga by Shinichi Fukuda has surpassed 12 million copies in circulation. The first season of the anime aired from January to March 2022, and a live-action adaptation ran from October to December 2024, further cementing its popularity.
