Live-Action "My Dress-Up Darling" Poster Unveiled: Riko Nagase Transforms into Blonde "Dress-Up Doll" as Marin, Kota Nomura Appears in Samue Attire as Wakana
On September 18, the poster visual for the live-action adaptation of the MBS/TBS Drama-ism series "My Dress-Up Darling" (premiering on October 8), starring Riko Nagase and Kota Nomura in dual lead roles, was released.
Affectionately known as "Kisekoi," the popular manga by Shinichi Fukuda is serialized in Young Gangan (Square Enix) and has surpassed 11 million copies in circulation. It has won awards such as the "Next Manga Award" in the Comics category (2019) and "Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics" (2020), and has also been adapted into an anime.
The story is a romantic comedy featuring high school boy Wakana Gojo, who is deeply engrossed in making Hina dolls, and the gal and otaku heroine Marin Kitagawa. Noticing Wakana's skillful craftsmanship, Marin asks, "I want you to make a cosplay outfit!" This request becomes the catalyst for Wakana to start breaking out of his shell. As the two polar opposites collaborate on costume-making, the distance between them gradually closes.
The newly unveiled poster visual features Nagase as the blonde gal Marin lying inside a box like a "dress-up doll," giving it a pop-art finish. Nomura, portraying Wakana, debuts his look in traditional samue attire.
Additionally, the cast members Akana Ikeda, Kokoa Toyoshima, Daichi Shiozaki, and Meikyo Yamada have been announced.
The drama will air on MBS (Kansai region) every Tuesday at 12:59 a.m. and on TBS (Kanto region) every Tuesday at 1:28 a.m.
