Shimazaki said, "The emotions born from Nagi and Reo's encounter, their journey to 'Blue Lock,' and the moments their egos are fully exposed are carefully portrayed. I believe the content will make you come to love them even more deeply! I hope many people will see it." "Blue Lock" is based on the manga of the same name serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. It is a soccer story that begins a national project for developing high school players in Japan aiming to create "a forward with overwhelming egotism," something the Japanese national team lacked after their defeat in the World Cup. The project gathers 300 high school students, all forwards, sacrificing the soccer careers of 299 to bring forth a revolutionary striker for Japanese soccer. The comic series has surpassed 30 million copies in circulation. Since October 2022, the TV anime has been broadcast, and the production of the second season has been decided. The movie is based on "Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi-" currently serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. It restructures the battles in "Blue Lock (Blue Prison)" from the genius Seishiro Nagi's perspective and tells a new story.
