As they prepare for the upcoming tournament, Taiki and Chinatsu focus intensely on their training. One day on their way home, the two find themselves walking together, and at Taiki's suggestion, they decide to stop by a nearby shrine. As fellow athletes, Taiki wishes for both him and Chinatsu to qualify for the Inter-High.

Meanwhile, the prefectural qualifiers for the girls' basketball team begin. Chinatsu and her teammates smoothly progress through the tournament, but they soon find themselves face to face with a rival school analyzing footage of their games.
