[Spoiler Alert] ‘Wanpuri’ Iroha & Mayu Transform into a Dog and Cat, Fans Are Delighted: “Satoru-kun…” “I Want to Cuddle Too”
Episode 40 of the 21st installment of the ‘Pretty Cure’ anime series, titled ‘Wonderful Precure!’, aired on TV Asahi on the 10th. The episode, featuring Iroha and Mayu transforming into a dog and cat, has sparked online discussions.
Episode 40, titled “Big Woof-Meow Incident,” starts with Komugi (voiced by Maria Naganawa) and others visiting the Farhowl Shrine upon Satoru’s suggestion, thinking Gaou might be there. Though no one is seen around the grounds, Komugi and Niko sense Gaou's recent presence by smell and aura.
Niko, now in human form, tries to track Gaou's aura by concentrating deeply. However, her unstable power spirals out of control, and amidst an intense burst of light, Iroha (voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki) turns into a dog, and Mayu (voiced by Reina Ueda) transforms into a cat.
To recover, they need lots of smiles, the source of Niko's "Niko Niko Power." Coming down from the mountain, Komugi and the others head to Seashore Park, deciding to play in their current forms, thinking, “Might as well make the most of it!”
As the others enjoy themselves, with Iroha and Komugi racing as dogs and Yuki (voiced by Satsumi Matsuda) teasing Mayu with a cat toy while in human form, more and more "Niko Niko Power" gathers, causing Niko's horn to glow.
Online reactions to Iroha and Mayu's dog and cat forms included comments like, "Thanks for the adorable moments with Satoru-kun!" and "They're even more adorable now that they're dogs! Sato-Iro is truly a treat!” Others chimed in with, “They still look like a couple even as pets!” “Today’s episode is definitely a masterpiece,” and “I want to cuddle with Yuki too...” At the end of the episode, Satoru also transforms—into a rabbit.
