The synopsis and preview images for Episode 40 of Wonderful Precure!, the 21st series in the Precure franchise, have been released.

Episode 40: "The Great Dog and Cat Incident" Highlights

In Episode 40, titled "The Great Dog and Cat Incident," Komugi (voiced by Maria Naganawa) and her friends head to Toboe Shrine after Satoru suggests that Gaou might be nearby. Although they find the shrine empty, Komugi and Niko sense that Gaou was recently there.

Taking on her human form, Niko tries to track Gaou's presence. However, her unstable powers go haywire, and with a bright flash, Iroha (voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki) is transformed into a dog while Mayu (voiced by Reina Ueda) is turned into a cat.

In order to restore their forms, they need to gather plenty of smiles, the source of Niko's "Nikoniko Power." The group decides to descend from the mountain and have some fun at Seaside Park. Komugi and Iroha race around in their dog forms, while Yuki (voiced by Satsumi Matsuda), still in human form, playfully “pets” Mayu and teases her with a cat toy. Amid all the fun, smiles accumulate, and Niko's horn begins to glow.

About Wonderful Precure

Wonderful Precure! is themed around "animals" with a focus on "bonds with animals." The keyword is "Everyone, let’s be friends! Wonderful~!" Set in Animal Town, where humans and animals live in harmony, the story depicts the cross-species connections between them.

Iroha, who loves animals, shares a close bond with her pet dog, Komugi. One day, they encounter a mysterious creature, Garugaru, causing chaos in the town. To protect Iroha, Komugi transforms into a human and becomes a Precure. Together, they work to help those with troubled hearts and return the animals to the Niko Garden.
