"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" Novel Released: A Collection of Short Stories Featuring Characters like Fern and Aura

The novel based on the manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" was released on April 17.

Under the supervision of the original author, Kanehito Yamada, the novel, penned by Mei Yatsume, explores stories not covered in the main series. It delves into the events just before Frieren embarks on her journey to "understand humans," presenting these as prequels.

The collection comprises five short stories, each focusing on characters such as Frieren, Fern, Stark, Lawine & Kanne, and Aura.

"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" has been serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" since April 2020, offering a "post-adventure fantasy" that follows the lives of heroes after defeating the demon lord. It narrates the story of the elven sorceress Frieren, who embarks on new adventures with new companions in a world without the hero.

Set in a unique timeline after the demon lord's defeat, the series captivates readers with its poignant drama, impactful dialogue, magical and sword-fighting scenes, and humorous elements. The manga has won the Manga Taisho Award in 2021 and has sold over 20 million copies.
