New Scene Photos from Inside Shige
New Scene Photos from Inside Shigeru's Body & Human World
The film will explore both the cellular world, where cells work tirelessly inside the human body, and the daily lives of the humans they inhabit. Central to the story are the father-daughter duo of Niko (Mana Ashida) and her father Shigeru (Sadao Abe). This marks the first time in over a decade that Ashida and Abe have reunited on-screen as father and daughter, following their massive success in the drama Marumo’s Story.
While Niko is a healthy high school girl, Shigeru is an unhealthy middle-aged man who loves junk food, alcohol, and smoking. His body is a run-down, lethargic space where cells struggle under harsh working conditions. The newly released scene photos depict Shigeru’s internal landscape, as well as a tense moment where Newbie Red Blood Cell (Rihito Itagaki) and Veteran Red Blood Cell (Ryo Kato) face an unprecedented crisis at the anus.
Additional photos from the human world include Shigeru in a bathroom emergency, facing a locked stall, and heartwarming moments of family life as Hiyoko worries about her father’s health. The photos also highlight Niko’s budding relationship with her admired senior, Takeda Arata (Seishiro Kato), creating a dynamic that even the hard-working cells can’t ignore.
The film humorously contrasts the vastly different worlds inside the bodies of Hiyoko and Shigeru, yet also brings a dramatic edge to their stories. As bacteria begin invading their bodies, the cells face the "biggest battle in body history," fighting for the future of the Urushizaki family. This creative, unique take on the human body promises to captivate audiences like never before.
