New Series by "Tokyo Revengers" Author Launches in Jump: "Negai no Astro" Features 58 Pages of Supernatural Outlaws
Ken Wakui, the creator of "Tokyo Revengers" and "Shinjuku Swan," has launched his new series "Negai no Astro" in issue #20 of "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) released on the 15th. Previously serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) and other Magazine series, this marks Wakui's first venture into serialization and publication in "Jump."
The first chapter of "Negai no Astro" is featured as the lead color spread over 58 pages, with the tagline "Supernatural x Outlaw." The synopsis reads, "The succession conflict within the Sekiken group erupts! What will Hibaru do...!?" and is also featured on the cover. Additionally, in "Weekly Shonen Jump," the serialization of "Kyokuto Necromance" (by Ayumi Naba), a story about a necromancer battle, will start in issue #21 released on the 22nd, and "Saikuru Biyori," depicting a mysterious transfer student (by Omusuke Kobayashi), will begin in issue #24 on May 13th.
Ken Wakui made his manga debut with "Shinjuku Host" published in "Bessatsu Shonen Magazine" in 2005. He then serialized "Shinjuku Swan" in "Weekly Young Magazine" from 2005 to 2013, which was adapted into an anime and a live-action film, and became a major hit. He serialized "Tokyo Revengers" in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" from 2017 to 2022. Following the conclusion of "Tokyo Revengers," there were no new serializations until this highly anticipated new series.
