It has been announced that a theatrical edition of the anime The Dangers in My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu, also known as BokuYaba) will be produced. The theatrical edition will be a specially edited version of the TV series, including new footage, and will depict what happens next for Ichikawa and Yamada. Additionally, a congratulatory illustration from the original creator, Norio Sakurai, has been released.

The Dangers in My Heart is based on a manga currently serialized in Manga Cross (published by Akita Shoten). The story is a coming-of-age romantic comedy between Ichikawa, a socially awkward boy, and Yamada, a beautiful yet ditzy girl with a lovable personality.

The manga has garnered attention, ranking for two consecutive years in the "This Manga is Amazing!" (Male Edition) list, and taking first place in the Web Manga category of the 2020 Next Manga Awards. With over 5.5 million copies in circulation, the first season of the TV anime aired in April 2023, and the second season is set to air in January 2024.
