The TV anime Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online II (GGO) will air on TOKYO MX and other networks starting October 4, 2024, marking six years since the first season premiered in April 2018. Along with the announcement, a second key visual and the latest promotional video (PV) have been released.

In the latest PV, the footage begins with scenes from Season 1, transitioning to new scenes from the second season. The continuous display of battle royale and gun action sequences raises anticipation for what's to come. Additionally, part of the opening theme song GG, performed by artist ReoNa, can be heard in the video.

Furthermore, it has been confirmed that ABEMA will offer the fastest streaming, simultaneous with the TV broadcast, and it will later be available on various other platforms.

Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online (GGO) is a spin-off of the novel Sword Art Online (SAO), written by Reki Kawahara. The story is set in the next-generation VRMMO Gun Gale Online, which appeared in Season 2 of the SAO TV anime where Kirito and Sinon first encountered it. GGO offers exhilarating gun-action entertainment in a virtual reality game space.

Based on that world, the series portrays the intense battle royale between the protagonist, LLENN, and her rival, Pitohui. The first season of the anime aired in April 2018, brought to life by the collaboration between author Keiichi Sigsawa and character designer Kouhaku Kuroboshi. The show received praise not only from SAO fans but also from gun enthusiasts and international anime fans for its detailed depiction of firearms and its powerful battle scenes.
