[Business] KADOKAWA Denies New Cyberattack Data Leak Claims: No Evidence of New Breach Detected
On the 11th, KADOKAWA released a statement regarding the claims made by a cyberattack group, addressing the situation and their response.
In an official statement on their website, KADOKAWA apologized for the June 8 cyberattack on their group: “With the continued support of a major external security firm, we are making every effort toward a full recovery of our operations and preventing any future incidents. We deeply apologize for the significant concern and inconvenience caused to all involved parties.”
The statement further noted, “We have confirmed claims from an organization that carried out the attack, stating they have released additional information from our group (hereinafter referred to as 'this matter'). While we are working with investigative authorities and external experts, we have detected no traces of a new cyberattack against our group.”
KADOKAWA continued, “We believe the information in question is not newly leaked from our group, but we are continuing to request additional investigation from external experts.”
The company concluded, “We will continue to thoroughly investigate the possible leaks from the attack and work toward full recovery and prevention of recurrence while safeguarding the interests of all related parties.”
