Voice actress Emi Shinohara passed away on the 8th at the age of 61. This was announced by her agency, 81 Produce, on their official website on the 10th, revealing that she had been undergoing medical treatment for an illness.

The agency stated: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our affiliated actor Emi Shinohara (real name Emiko Watanabe) on September 8th, 2024, at the age of 61 after a long battle with illness. We are deeply grateful for all the support and connections she had in her lifetime."

Shinohara was born on August 8th in Nagano Prefecture. Her notable works include roles in Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card as Kaho Mizuki, Sailor Moon as Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter, BanG Dream! as Kaori Toyama, and Naruto Shippuden as Kushina Uzumaki, among others.
