Voice actress Keiko Yamamoto passed away on April 18 due to sepsis at the age of 83. Her agency, Aoni Production, announced the news on their official website on July 29.
The announcement on the site read, "Our affiliated voice actress, Keiko Yamamoto (aged 83), peacefully passed away due to sepsis on April 18, Reiwa 6. We deeply appreciate the kindness and support she received during her lifetime and respectfully inform you of her passing." It continued, "The wake and funeral were conducted privately with close relatives. We apologize for the delay in this announcement due to the wishes of the bereaved family."
Keiko Yamamoto was known for her iconic roles, including Hanazawa in "Sazae-san," Shota Yamada in "Chibi Maruko-chan," Bakabon in "Tensai Bakabon," Sunakake Baba in "GeGeGe no Kitaro," Chikako in "Himitsu no Akko-chan," and Choromatsu and Karamatsu in "Osomatsu-kun," among others.
