The new cast members for the upcoming all-new TV anime Ranma 1/2 (premiering on October 5th) have been revealed. Tomokazu Sugita will voice Tatewaki Kuno, Ayane Sakura will voice Kodachi Kuno, Toshiyuki Morikawa will voice Tofu Ono, Mamoru Miyano will voice Mikado Sanzenin, and Aoi Yuki will voice Azusa Shiratori.

The production committee also released an unusual comment regarding the casting process: "Thank you very much for your anticipation of the October broadcast and streaming of Ranma 1/2. Today, we have announced additional characters and their respective cast members."

Following the message, they explained the casting process, stating, "The casting decisions were made through careful consideration by the production committee and staff as we worked hard to bring this series to life. We hope you look forward to the premiere in one month. (We kindly ask that you refrain from contacting the cast members or their agencies through social media or other means)."

Ranma 1/2 is a martial arts romantic comedy that follows high school student Ranma Saotome, who transforms into a girl when splashed with cold water, and his fiancée Akane Tendo as they navigate their daily lives filled with action and humor. The original TV anime aired from 1989 to 1992, followed by movies and OVAs. In 2011, a live-action drama starring Yui Aragaki as Akane was produced.

I’m Tomokazu Sugita, playing Tatewaki Kuno. I approach his character not as an eccentric but as a purely genuine person in all aspects. Like a lightning bolt from the sky, I hope to bring vividness to the show. I’m grateful for the opportunity. By the way, the game I played the most was Bakuretsu Rantou Hen.
