New 'Madoka Magica' Film Delayed: Release Pushed from This Winter to Winter 2025; Fans Lament 'Kyubey, Do Something!'
The release date for the new movie from the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica (Madoka Magica) titled Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten has been postponed from the originally scheduled Winter 2024 to Winter 2025, as announced on the official website. In response, the internet has been flooded with the voices of disappointed fans.
The delay was attributed to "production-related circumstances," and the production committee stated, "We sincerely apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to the release of this film. We are continuing to work hard to deliver a better product. We kindly ask for your understanding."
This film is the new installment of the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica. It is being produced as the official sequel to the movie [Rebellion], which was released in theaters in 2013. As with the TV anime series, Akiyuki Shinbo is serving as the chief director, with Gen Urobuchi handling the script, Ume Aoki providing the original character designs, Yuki Kajiura composing the music, and SHAFT in charge of the animation production.
In response to the delay, fans online have expressed various reactions, such as, "I was living for this, but I don't know if I can survive another year," "I was really looking forward to it, but I guess it can't be helped," "It's so long...," "No way... well, I'll wait patiently with high hopes for a great film," and "Kyubey, do something!"
