The Prince of Tennis was adapted into a TV anime starting in October 2001 on TV Tokyo and has since become a popular franchise with events and movies. The TV anime The Prince of Tennis II U-17 WORLD CUP, broadcast in 2022, marked the first television anime in 10 years since The Prince of Tennis II, which aired until March 2012. The series continues the story after the 2014 OVA series The Prince of Tennis II OVA vs Genius10.
In The Prince of Tennis II U-17 WORLD CUP, the stage shifted from the Kanto Tournament to the National Tournament and finally to the World Tournament, where intense matches against national representatives unfolded.
