The sequel sees the return of director Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix as the protagonist, Arthur, aka the Joker, with Lady Gaga joining the cast. While her role has not been officially announced, it is speculated that she will play Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn.

The globally released poster visual showcases Arthur (Joaquin Phoenix), donned in his Joker clown makeup, dancing with a woman played by Lady Gaga, spotlighted amidst darkness.

"Joker" depicted the journey of Arthur, a kind-hearted but lonely individual who lived a modest life as a street clown makeup artist. Believing in the beauty of a life filled with laughter, Arthur's world turns upside down, transforming into the charismatic villain, Joker, amidst a twisted society.

Winning the Golden Lion Award (top prize) at the 76th Venice International Film Festival and being nominated for 11 categories at the 92nd Academy Awards—where Joaquin Phoenix clinched the Best Actor award—the film surpassed global box office earnings of 10 billion yen (about 1 billion USD), achieving a blockbuster status. In Japan, it maintained the top spot in the weekend box office rankings for four consecutive weeks, generating over 5 billion yen in revenue and attracting over 3.5 million viewers, sparking a social phenomenon.

Five years since the original release, the eagerly awaited sequel incorporates "Folie à Deux" in its title, a French term meaning "madness for two." It refers to a scenario where person A with delusions and a closely associated sane person B spend time together, isolated from external influences, leading to the transmission of delusions from A to B, or even to a larger group, thereby sharing the delusional belief.

What circumstances does Arthur find himself in now, as depicted in the new visual? Behind the expressions of the duo, which elude madness, bliss, and sorrow, what secrets lie? Along with the subtitle, anticipation and imagination only continue to grow.
