The Series Continues in Pencil Storyboard Format

Captain Tsubasa: Rising Sun FINALS has been serialized since July 2024 through Captain Tsubasa WORLD and the YanJan! manga app.

The format began after Takahashi found it increasingly difficult to continue drawing manga because of declining physical strength and changes in his working environment. Regular manga serialization had therefore ended in April 2024.

Takahashi subsequently decided that he wanted to leave behind the “story” of Captain Tsubasa through its final chapter.

As the final chapter of the series, Rising Sun FINALS continues the story beyond the previous manga serialization in a weekly pencil storyboard format.

Japan and Spain Battle for a Place in the Madrid Olympics Final

The current story centers on the fiercely contested Madrid Olympics.

In the semifinal, the Japan U-23 National Team led by Tsubasa Ozora faces Spain, which is aiming for the championship with Michael, known as the “Angel,” at the center of the team.

The match is determining which side will advance to the final, with the story now moving closer to the climax of the Olympic tournament.

Chapter 50 Featured the Birth of Tsubasa and Sanae’s Twins

An earlier major development came in Chapter 50, when Tsubasa’s wife Sanae Ozora, formerly Sanae Nakazawa, gave birth to their twin sons.

The development drew considerable attention as the Madrid Olympics storyline continued.
