In the special announcement video released after the final episode, it was revealed that the theatrical version of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle Arc" will be produced as a trilogy. The final confrontation with the archenemy Muzan Kibutsuji is depicted, and even in the final episode of the Hashira Training Arc, a battle scene with Muzan is shown.

In the theatrical version, the final showdown with Muzan will be depicted. In the "Whispered Rumors" segment, Rengoku sends a cheer saying, "It's finally time to fight Muzan. I’m counting on you!" Even though Rengoku, who is no longer alive, only appeared as a voice, the internet reacted with comments like, "I almost cried hearing Rengoku's voice at the end," "It's been a while since Rengoku appeared, and it made me tear up," "This kind of execution is tear-jerking!" and "The appearance of just Rengoku's voice was amazing."

On X (formerly Twitter), "Demon Slayer" trended at number one, "Rengoku" at number two, and "Theatrical Trilogy" at number three.

"Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc" is based on episodes from volumes 15 to 16 of the original manga, in which Tanjiro and his comrades undergo further training from the corps' highest-ranking swordsmen, the Hashiras, to grow stronger. "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from February 2016 to May 2020, which has become a hit with over 150 million copies of the comics sold.

Set in the Taisho era, the story revolves around a young boy, Tanjiro Kamado, who joins the Demon Slayer Corps to avenge his family killed by demons and to restore his demon-transformed sister, Nezuko, back to human. The first season of the anime aired from April to September 2019, becoming a cultural phenomenon. It led to the blockbuster movie "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train" in October 2020, which grossed over 40 billion yen in Japan. The sequel to the movie, "Entertainment District Arc," was broadcast as the anime's second season starting in December 2021, followed by the third season, "Swordsmith Village Arc," which aired from April 2023.
