DRAGON BALL Continues to Expand More Than 40 Years After Its Debut

DRAGON BALL is based on one of Japan's most iconic manga series, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1984 and ran for approximately ten and a half years.

The manga has surpassed 260 million copies in circulation worldwide. Even after serialization ended, the franchise has continued to attract fans through television anime, films, games and numerous other forms of media.

In 2013, the theatrical film series returned for the first time in 17 years and produced a succession of major hits.

Dragon Ball Super, based on an original concept by creator Akira Toriyama, began in 2015. The film Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO was released in 2022, followed by the television anime Dragon Ball DAIMA, which aired from October 2024 through February 2025.

Production has also been confirmed for the new anime Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol.

Opening Theme: Comment from MEGATERA・ZERO

MEGATERA・ZERO

“I have watched Dragon Ball since I was little, to the point that it had a huge influence on my life.

I created ‘ONOGAMI’ because I wanted to express those who fight using only their own strength and those who fight believing in themselves, including not only Goku and his friends but also the characters who appeared as formidable enemies throughout the Dragon Ball stories I have watched.

I am truly happy to be able to be part of the world of a work loved across the nation. Thank you so much!”

Ending Theme: Comment from VK Blanka

“When I was a boy, I would lose myself turning the pages of the manga, and I would wake up early every week to watch the television anime.

Now that time has passed, I am truly honored to be involved with Dragon Ball as a musician.

Of course, Dragon Ball has continued to portray ‘strength’ and ‘courage,’ but there have also always been ‘sadness’ and ‘absurdity’ in their shadows. This is a precious song that I created by bringing out everything I had inside me.”
