Super Electromagnetic Robo Combattler V Reveals All New Full CG Anime Featuring Combattler V6

Super Electromagnetic Robo Combattler V has released a special video celebrating the 50th anniversary of the landmark robot anime series, which first aired in 1976.

Combattler V Returns in an All New Full CG Story

The video was created as a gesture of gratitude to fans who have supported the series for half a century. Production was led by Toei Zukun Laboratory, which specializes in innovative digital visual production.

The special presentation consists of two parts. The first is a memorial video that revives memorable scenes from the original series. The second is an entirely new full CG animation that marks the beginning of a new legend.

Set to the iconic theme song, the memorial segment brings back the heroic exploits of Hyoma and his companions, along with their fierce battle against Garuda. After the five machines combine to form Combattler V, the 50th anniversary logo signals the transition into full CG animation. A new battle against an enemy robot then begins using the latest animation technology.

Combattler V is pushed into an unprecedented crisis by the enemy robot’s relentless assault. Appearing in its moment of greatest peril is Battle Armor, the sixth machine.

Combattler V and Battle Armor perform an Armored Combine, transforming the robot into its most powerful form, Combattler V6. This completely original story features the spectacular Super Electromagnetic Spin rendered in full CG animation.

Soul of Chogokin GX 121 Combattler V6 Set for February 2027

Combattler V6, equipped with the new Battle Armor machine, will also be released as a collector’s item by the Collectors Toy Department of BANDAI SPIRITS, which operates the TAMASHII NATIONS brand.

Soul of Chogokin GX 121 Combattler V6 will be released at mass retailers across Japan in February 2027. The suggested retail price is 55,000 yen, including 10 percent tax. Preorders will open at 4 p.m. on August 3, 2026.

New SMP Combattler V Prototype to Be Displayed

The SMP series will also produce a new model of Combattler V to commemorate the anime’s 50th anniversary. The robot will be reconstructed with an original SMP design that offers a new interpretation of this legacy robot anime icon.

Junichi Akutsu of Astrays Co., Ltd. has joined the project as product designer. The latest prototype of the new SMP Combattler V is scheduled to be displayed at the AmiAmi Hobby Camp Bandai booth during Wonder Festival 2026 Summer.

The event will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on July 26, 2026.
