[Tokusatsu Anime] 'Voltes V' All 40 Episodes to Stream for Free – A Beloved Show in the Philippines
It has been announced that all 40 episodes of the classic anime series Voltes V will be available for streaming on the Toei Tokusatsu YouTube Official channel, starting sequentially from 6:00 PM on the 23rd. All episodes will be available for a limited time, free of charge, until the release of the film Voltes V Legacy on October 18.
Voltes V, which originally aired from 1977 to 1978, tells the story of the Go brothers (Kenichi, Daijiro, and Hiyoshi), Ippei Mine, and Megumi Oka, who pilot the super electromagnetic robot Voltes V to fight against the Boazan alien invaders led by Prince Heinell. The series follows their desperate battle to save Earth from destruction.
The anime's popularity extended far beyond Japan and gained tremendous popularity in the Philippines, where it became a national sensation. Even today, many Filipinos can sing the original Japanese opening theme, "Voltes V no Uta," performed by Mitsuko Horie, despite the language barrier.
In response to this enduring popularity, a live-action film titled Voltes V Legacy, featuring updated CGI and new scenes, will be released on October 18. The film has been highly anticipated due to its remarkable CGI quality, created by a talented Philippine production team. The free streaming of the anime provides a chance to revisit why Voltes V became so beloved in the Philippines.
Starting August 23, five episodes will be released each Friday at 6:00 PM, at 30-minute intervals. The initial releases will be premiered, allowing viewers to watch and comment together. After the premiere, the episodes will remain available for two weeks, with the exception of certain episodes.
